Dress code and other practical information
Men are expected to wear a suit and women should remember to bring their dance shoes.
Due to the concept of a midnight wedding, children will not be accommodated for.
The wedding will be filled with Dutch and primarily Danish traditions. Our lovely Masters of Ceremony will outline the traditions prior to the dinner.
We will make sure there is easy transport between the NH Hotel Naarden and The Upper Deck, before the wedding as well as throughout the night.
If you are interested in transport from The Upper Deck to Amsterdam Central Station at 04.00h on Monday Aug 8, please let Master of Ceremony Ruben Vermaak know (see footer for contact details).
Our Masters of Ceremony (Ruben & Sofie) will be managing the schedule during for wedding celebration. Please let them know before July 22 if you have anything you wish to share during the evening, so they can take it into consideration. You can furthermore reach out to them with any questions before or during the wedding.
On Saturday August 6, Amsterdam will be hosting Gay Pride. The city will be extra crowded with tourists coming from all over the world this weekend. Keep this in mind when you are looking for accommodation on Friday and Saturday. Note that therefore we have also blocked rooms for Saturday night at the NH Hotel Naarden for our wedding guests. Please indicate on the RSVP page if you would like to put your name down for a room.
We will for sure be heading out to the canals to experience the Canal Parade (August 7: 13.30 - 18.00h). If enough interest, we could look to rent a big boat with the wedding party, pick a spot on the canal to watch the parade come by, and sail after the parade. Of course with plenty of drinks and music on board. As long as we are all fit for the wedding the day after! :-)
Naarden, the town where Jego grew up, has a UNESCO world heritage star fort called Naarden Vesting. The small, authentic village, offers beautiful nature, old bunkers, and tons of cafés with delicious treats.
In the center, you will also find guided tours on the small canals where the ease and quietness will be a sharp contrast the Amsterdam's busy and lively canals. We think this would be a really nice place to walk around during on Sunday or Monday!
Additionally, on Monday we will host a brunch (from 10.30/11.00) at Jego's parents' garden for some great hangover food and more gezelligheid / hyggetid. P.S. there is a swimming pool, so let's hope the weather is good.
